Hi, I’m Tobie, welcome to my website! This is where I showcase my photography and nature writing. As a kid I had note books full of sketches of my favourite critters. Many, I had copied from the 'Wildlife Photographer of the Year' portfolios I asked my dad buy me every year. This childhood wonder has since developed into a passion for rare and unique species with an interesting story to tell. I love shining a light on the organisations and individuals working to preserve these species and can usually be found in a rainforest, solo kayaking or hiking, in search of interesting encounters.
I’m also an established musician. For a few years I directed a jazz festival in London, and have played the violin at prestigious concert halls and jazz clubs around the world. My past writing work has been mainly in music publications, and I've had pieces in Jazz Journal, The Syncopated Times and London Jazz News. I have also photographed for many world-leading jazz musicians. In May 2025 I migrated from South London to South Asia! This intimidating change of scene was to focus more deeply on nature and conservation.
